Architecture Competition Mega Dunes Eco Lodges Honorable mention – Uri Lewis and Yasha Lewis

We’d like to take the opportunity to introduce you to one of our Honorable mention winners for our “Mega Dunes Eco Lodges - Abu Dhabi” competition – Uri Lewis and Yasha Lewis from Mexico!

Uri Lewis and Yasha Lewis from Mexico

We both work at MYUarchitects, an architectural design studio and a construction company based in Mexico. The company specializes in sustainable architecture, and recently we have been implementing the parametric architecture in our designs.

Brief information about the projects that you/your company have been involved with. For instance, what scale have you focused on/preferred, any significant projects where the company/individuals have been involved?

Over the last years, we have worked on projects, in conceptualization, designing, 3D modeling, rendering and construction supervision.

The company has designed and built residences, hotels, restaurants and schools. So, the scale of the projects varies a lot.

- Common Ruins Competition ( January 2019, Finalist with Castle Choice Mention )

- Cuatro Cienegas Laboratory&Art Pavilion (January 2020, Project designed for U.N.A.M.)

- La Buena Vibra Hotel (2020, New extension for Yoga groups and conferences)

What does architecture mean to you and what is the role of an architect in your society?

Architecture is an art, deeply rooted into human beings, their culture, and their life. Through it, we can create the refuge where our society develops and coexists with our natural environment.

Our role as architects is to create harmony and welfare between this materialized idea and our planet.

Why do you participate in architecture vision competitions?

Competitions are a great way to share your architectural vision and develop innovative avant-garde ideas with an essence.

What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture vision competitions?

It is a great opportunity to show your work and be evaluated by great minds in your professional fields.
