Reimagine a historical primary school into a museum for horses
We’d like to take this opportunity to introduce the 2nd prize winners of our Triple Bridge Waterfront competition - Ka Leung Yuen and Sze Kwan Wan from United states!
Ka Leung Yuen and Sze Kwan Wan
Born and raised in Hong Kong, we are recent graduates from Cornell University and University of Toronto with a Masters degree in architecture. Having interned at Kengo Kuma & Associates, we share a common aspiration for architectural visions. Through speculative practices, we believe new ideas would bring surprise and delight in a multi-disciplinary medium.
Our interest and engagement span from urban to human scale while speculating potentials which go beyond pure utility and generic construction.
For us, architecture demarcates a realm that reacts and accommodates social, cultural and political considerations. Architects reconcile the notion of space as abstract imagination and complying of reality. They harness the intelligence of different disciplines and project them into an architectural solution.
Instead of a vicious competition, we attempt to make room for productive discourse via proposition made in an arena set for architects and designers.
Being one of those who is still in constant struggle in the discipline, the only suggestion that we could give is to let your hand be your guide and engage in different platforms, whether a competition or not, to expand the field of discourse.
