Architecture competition "The Big Tiny Coffee House Challenge" 1st prize winner

We’d like to take the opportunity to introduce you to the winner of the 1st prize of our “The Big Tiny Coffee House Challenge” competition - Lau Wai Lap from Hong Kong!

Lau Wai Lap from Hong Kong

I graduated with a Master’s in Architecture from  The University of Hong Kong, 2013. I have worked 10 years in the architecture and interior design field with comprehensive experience on both design and project administration.

What does architecture mean to you and what is the role of an architect in your society?

Architecture is where we spend the most personal and private part of our lives, and it is also the boundary within which we all live and work in the public part of our lives. Architecture is combined art & science, primal needs and high tech. Architecture is a time witness.

Why do you participate in architecture vision competitions?

Because I love architecture, I love to design architecture

What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture vision competitions?

This is a good platform to show you’re passionate for architecture. Go ahead.
