Steen Eiler Rasmussen in "Experiencing Architecture" said “Architecture doesn’t rely on usual connection of plans, sections and elevations. It’s something different and simultaneously more powerful. It’s hard to explain, what it is, because its boundaries are not clearly defined. [...] But only this type of art is functional. It solves practical problems, creates tools and instruments, which we are using.“ It should be the ultimate definition. For us architecture is looking for answers to questions like “how to make space comfortable, useful and attractive for recipients?”
The ability to confront ideas is really significant. Nowadays, we have an unique chance to compare our level to participants’. Architecture vision competitions are known for being a great motivation to start brainstorming and conceptual thinking.
