Our activity is worldwide, ranging from domestic notable project as Tokyo Sky Tree to overseas project such as Camp Nou Stadium renovation project (Spain). Our company Nikken Sekkei Ltd is open to any scale or building use.
What does architecture mean to you and what is the role of an architect in your society?
Architecture is a valuable property of our society. An architect’s role is to contribute to the society we belong to through architectural design.
Why do you participate in architecture vision competitions?
By taking part in architecture vision competitions, we are aiming to refresh our design mind as the design approach would be completely different from daily work.
What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture vision competitions?
If you apply for an architecture vision design competition, you can truly appreciate various ideas by other applicants. It is worthwhile to spare time especially for an international design competition like this time to enhance your design ability by knowing excellent ideas from all over the world.
