Reimagine a historical primary school into a museum for horses
We’d like to take the opportunity to introduce you to one of our Honorable mention winners for our “Abu Dhabi Flamingo Visitor Center” competition – Sebastian Feldmann, Thomas Filke, Leon Brohmann and Philipp Brummer from Germany.

Sebastian, Thomas, Philipp and Leon are a group of friends dedicated to architecture. We studied together at the TU Braunschweig and were in the same design studio for years. After graduating a while ago, we lost contact with each other. Thus, we decided to take part in an architecture competition, in addition to our actual jobs, to revive the good old studio times and to let creativity run wild.
We work in different architectural offices and design and develop projects. One of us has stayed at the university and is doing research in the field of additive manufacturing in construction.
As individuals we have developed different approaches to architecture and it can happen that we lose ourselves in the architectural discourse. Nevertheless, this is also our strength – to reach a consensus. At the very least, we can say that we all believe in an identity-building, context-related architecture that deals with the local environment.
We decided to join THE ABU DHABI FLAMINGO VISITOR CENTRE - contest at beebreeders.com because we like the idea of designing a unique environment. Additionally, the elegant appearance of flamingos and their choreographic movements inspired us to design an interactive pavilion.
Sometimes it's hard to bring yourself to continue working in the evening, especially after a hard day at work. But in the end, it is worth it to read a nice book for a few pages or drinking your favorite beverage while starting to draw the first line, then the second, and so on.
